June is Scleroderma Awareness Month

Learn more about Scleroderma

Scleroderma Awareness Month is a global campaign to raise understanding of the rare, incurable autoimmune disease that causes the body to produce excess collagen. The month-long observance culminates annually on World Scleroderma Day on June 29.

Scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) affects roughly 300,000 Americans. It causes skin to thicken and harden, and can severely damage internal organs like the lungs, heart, kidneys, and digestive tract. Because there is no known cure, increasing awareness is essential for funding ongoing research and supporting diagnosed patients.
