Full-time faculty provide milestone-based evaluations of resident competencies during each clinical rotation. Every 6 months, the residency program director provides detailed feedback to each resident to review and improve educational and clinical performance. Development is also assessed during conferences and didactic sessions.
Additionally, each entering PGY-2 resident is matched with a faculty mentor. Working in tandem with the program director, mentors provide guidance on career interests, support residents in scholarly work and quality improvement projects, and help to ensure departmental and institutional educational requirements are met.
