In their final year of residency training, transition to practice clinics allow senior residents the opportunity to provide longitudinal dermatologic care with greater autonomy to adults.
In addition to the competencies of General Dermatology clinics, residents will learn to:
- Assume a more central role in diagnosis and management of common and uncommon medical dermatologic disorders, under faculty supervision
- Assume a more central role in the evaluation of patients who are candidates for cosmetic procedures, in the administration of botulinum toxin and soft tissue fillers, and in the performance of chemical peels and laser surgery
- Become recognized as a dermatologic care provider
- Demonstrate awareness of cost, health care systems, and access when providing high-quality care to patients
