Specialty clinics provide coordinated care, develop and promote expertise, and provide in-depth, focused education to residents. Adults of all ages, ethnicity and socioeconomic backgrounds are evaluated and treated.
Residents will learn to:
- Apply and interpret patch tests and diagnose, and treat patients with contact dermatitis
- Evaluate and care for patients with moderate or severe atopic dermatitis
- Provide long-term care and follow-up to patients with pigmented lesions and higher risk for melanoma, including dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy
- Utilize clinical, immunopathologic, and serologic findings to diagnose immunobullous disorders and select appropriate systemic therapies for their treatment
- Provide long-term care and follow-up to patients at higher risk for nonmelanoma skin cancer, particularly transplant recipients or patients with a history of immunosuppression
