Specialty Clinics

(PGY 2, 3 and 4)

Specialty clinics provide coordinated care, develop and promote expertise, and provide in-depth, focused education to residents. Adults of all ages, ethnicity and socioeconomic backgrounds are evaluated and treated.

Residents will learn to:

  • Apply and interpret patch tests and diagnose, and treat patients with contact dermatitis
  • Evaluate and care for patients with moderate or severe atopic dermatitis
  • Provide long-term care and follow-up to patients with pigmented lesions and higher risk for melanoma, including dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy
  • Utilize clinical, immunopathologic, and serologic findings to diagnose immunobullous disorders and select appropriate systemic therapies for their treatment
  • Provide long-term care and follow-up to patients at higher risk for nonmelanoma skin cancer, particularly transplant recipients or patients with a history of immunosuppression
