The Pediatric Dermatology division specializes in the care of common and rare skin disorders in infants, children and adolescents. We see patients with both common skin disorders, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, birthmarks, moles, as well as uncommon skin disorders including genetic skin conditions, autoimmune skin disorders and vascular birthmarks. The pediatric dermatology physicians collaborate closely with other pediatric specialties to provide a holistic patient-focused care.
For patients that require procedures, there is an in office pediatric procedure clinic twice a month. Examples of procedures that are provided include excisions (lesion removal), cyst removal, laser therapy, and Botulinum Toxin (Botox) for hyperhidrosis. Patients can also avail of having procedures performed by a pediatric dermatologist under general anesthesia in the operating room at the UF Health Children’s Surgical Center.
The Pediatric Dermatology division hosts several subspecialty clinics including an Epidermolysis Bullosa clinic (have a hyperlink to the EB clinic webpage), a Chronic Itch clinic (have a hyperlink to the EB clinic webpage ) and a monthly Vascular Anomaly Conference (have a hyperlink to the EB clinic webpage). This allows pediatric patients to receive specialty care for these rare disorders.
The Pediatric Dermatology physicians are actively involved in research and clinical trials to ensure patients are receiving cutting edge medical care.
The Pediatric Dermatology division see patients of all ages at both the Gainesville and Jacksonville locations. We look forward to welcoming you to our clinic and to take care of your child’s skin care needs!
