About Sara E Contreras
Dr. Contreras is a dermatologist, joining the University of Florida as faculty. Born and raised in Venezuela, she earned her medical degree from Universidad de Los Andes in Mérida. She completed a preliminary residency in pediatrics followed by a dermatology residency at the Military Hospital “Dr. Carlos Arvelo” in Caracas. She subsequently practiced dermatology in private practice in Venezuela before emigrating to the United States, where she obtained her ECFMG certification.
Dr. Contreras completed a Complex Dermatology Fellowship at the University of Florida and is excited to continue her academic career as a member of the faculty. Her clinical interests include skin cancer, hidradenitis suppurativa, and vulvar dermatology. She is passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate care while contributing to medical education andis eager to use both Spanish and English to connect with and serve the diverse community of patients in Jacksonville.
