Dermatology is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. A dermatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in skin, hair and nail care, specially trained to provide the full spectrum of skin care.
Our UF dermatology specialist are expertly trained and board certified in dermatology to provide patients with the full spectrum of general adult and pediatric dermatological consultations, evaluations and treatments. Each faculty member brings extensive experience and knowledge to the practice to make UF Dermatology one of the most comprehensive dermatology practices in the state of Florida. Our UF Health Dermatology – Springhill is located in Gainesville, Florida. In January 2015, the department opened the new UF Health Dermatology – Emerson clinic in Jacksonville. We are planning to expand our services in the future and open new dermatology satellite offices in Ocala and Lake City, FL.
Our department is home to four specialty practices: General Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Dermatology. Additionally, the UF Department of Dermatology has its own dermatopathology laboratory to provide expert and timely pathology reporting.
